Biography:

Dommin is an American Alternative-Rock quartet formed in the East Valley of Los Angeles, California and fronted by the enigmatic, Kristofer Dommin, also the band’s guitarist and principal songwriter. The origins of the band can be traced back to demos released in 2000, but the band really began to take shape when bassist Billy James joined in 2002 and Konstantine hit the keys in 2006. The band auditioned Cameron Morris for drums in 2008.

Speaking about the band’s new music and highly anticipated sophomore release, Kristofer reveals, “This is another piece of the puzzle and a musical evolution. The songs are more empowering, maybe a bit more pissed-off and definitely a lot more tongue-in-cheek.” Konstantine sums it up with one word, “swagger.”

“Dommin’s Roadrunner Records debut, Love Is Gone, released in 2010, was referred to as “the voice of the broken-hearted.” The songs delved into complex relationships and damaged psyches. The album’s first single, “My Heart, Your Hands” was featured as iTunes ‘Song Of The Week’ in February of 2010. The band toured extensively to support their debut opening for bands like Volbeat, Black Veil Brides, The Birthday Massacre, and Kill Hannah among others. They supported HIM and Lacuna Coil in the U.S. and on two back to back tours through Europe which ended in a headlining show at London’s legendary Borderline. They returned to Europe that same year to play Germany’s Rock Am Ring/Rock Im Park festivals and to open the Main Stage on the final day of the Download Festival in the United Kingdom. Dommin received nominations as Best New Band and Best New International Artist at both of UK’s Metal Hammer Awards and Kerrang Awards respectively. In 2011, the band played the Soundwave Festival in Australia and spent the remainder of the year writing for their follow up album.

“We’ve experienced a lot of industry challenges, Cameron explains, but we have so much more to reveal and Kris has a whole lot more to say.” Bassist Billy James offers his take, “He’s using his experiences, his voice and our influences to make something really special.” Those common influences range from the likes of The Doors to Depeche Mode to Nirvana. However, it is Kristofer’s unique and compelling voice that drives the power and passion of every word he sings and unites all the songs under a common identity, aching to seduce the listener into a very personal narrative.

Kristofer concludes, “The words and music are there for those who need to know that there is someone out there who feels the same.”
